Field Placements and Pressure Points

Field settings are one of the most powerful tactical tools in cricket. Whether defending or attacking, the captain and bowler must work together to place fielders smartly. Against aggressive hitters, boundary riders cover key zones, while in Tests, close-in fielders create pressure and chances for catches. Fielding positions should reflect the bowler’s plan — for example, a leg-side trap or an off-stump channel. Constant adjustment to field settings based on batsman behavior and match situation is what separates good teams from great ones.
